“Ashly Gillis has been integral part of my journey as an athlete and a person. She started off as my soccer coach when I was in middle school, and I’ve watched her grow into the intelligent, strong, and ridiculously capable physical therapist she is today.

Whether it’s an injury from freeride skiing, soccer, or running, Ashly has been and always will be my go to. From a young age, it was clear that her ability to coach people to their peak ability was something special. She knows the body like the back of her hand, and her experience as a hardworking athlete herself shows in her work.

I’ve seen her for multiple injuries, but her expertise shined during my big knee injury. She first made the effort to understand who I was as a person and the fixed goals I had to get back to competitive freeride skiing. It wasn’t a matter of if I was going to get back, it was how much stronger I would be when I was. She set out a specific rehab plan that was personalized and attainable. Going in and working with Ashly hands on is such a cool experience. She’s always pushing her clients to their limit, yet her energy is positively contagious.

The whole Winans family can vouch that if we are ever injured, Ashly’s our girl. She truly is an inspiring human.

“I was devastated when I tore my ACL and thought I would never be able to ski the same way again. Rehab is a long journey and Ashly was an amazing guide, starting with just lifting my leg and learning to walk again all the way through to Olympic lifting. I learned so much about how to train and prepare my body for the future. Not only am I stronger coming out of this experience but I also learned things I otherwise never would have known and now I can keep training more effectively for the rest of my life. Now I am just about two years out from surgery and I’m back to skiing just as hard as I was before.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Ashly. After tearing my ACL and MCL last winter, I was pretty pessimistic about my recovery and assumed surgery would be imminent. My orthopedic surgeon said he could schedule me for ACL surgery immediately or I could go see a Physical Therapist and try working with them first. I went to see Ashly and she helped me understand the pros and cons of surgery and offered her support regardless of the route I chose. Because of her guidance, I was able to avoid surgery altogether. She got me back on my feet and eventually stronger than ever. I am just as active now and perform at the same level or even better than before my injury.”

“I truly could not have fallen into better hands after my surgery! Very quickly after I met Ashley, she keenly recognized my intense athletic drive and my deep passion for freedom of movement and centrally integrated that into my recovery plan. An ACL tear will take the wind out of anyone’s sails, but Ashly acknowledged how important movement and activity was to my well being and facilitated many discussions about how to positively frame my recovery as an opportunity to enrich and deepen my relationship to sport and fitness.

I left my time with Ashly feeling so excited and knowledgeable about strengthening and with confidence in my ability to work through adversity with measured progress. I gained invaluable perspective on how to build holistic, balanced strength and how to continue to that after I graduated her program. Everyone says you can finish PT stronger than pre-injury and at first I was skeptical but truthfully I have never felt stronger or more stoked on maintaining this level of strength!

The profound positive impact that Ashly had on one of the most challenging experiences of my life to date honestly made me wonder if I wanted to go to PT school and make that kind of difference in people’s lives. She’s effective, empathetic, and deeply enthusiastic about what she does and helping people get back to what they love. Ashly’s more than your PT; she’s an emphatic coach, your biggest fan, and a wise mentor in strength and resilience, beyond just the physical realm. You’re going to feel so lucky to have her!”
